Huh?

The Dance of Reality. What does that even mean?

"In Christianity God is not a static thing . . . but a dynamic, pulsating activity, a life, almost a kind of drama. Almost . . . a kind of dance." -- C.S. Lewis

In Tim Keller's King's Cross, he opens with comparing our walk with Christ to a dance. He goes on to describe a bunch of people dancing on a stage, all saying "No, you orbit around me!" He compares this to the self-centered lives we live. If everyone is only concentrating on themselves, and not the whole dance, then you get nowhere. That's just like us. Always watching out for ourselves. Not saying that's necessarily a bad thing, but it is if it's the only thing.
Keller then goes on to talk about God's identity in the Trinity, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Meaning God is one God, eternally existent in three persons. And instead of self-centeredness, the Trinity is characterized by mutually self-giving love, and each of them voluntarily circles and orbits the others.

"Self-centeredness makes everything else a means to an end." -- Keller
